With the political battle for the Delhi assembly elections heating up, the AAP has brought its star campaigners in the national Capital with the party’s Rajya Sabha MP and Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh holding multiple roadshows in different parts of the city on Monday ahead.
A popular cricketer, Singh held three roadshows in different constituencies in the city. The first roadshow was held in Krishna Nagar at 4 pm, followed by one roadshow each in Shahdara and Laxmi Nagar constituencies at 5 pm and 6 pm respectively.
Campaigning for AAP candidate Vikas Bagga, who is contesting the polls from Krishna Nagar, Singh expressed confidence in him winning from the seat. "I am extremely glad to be here for the party, and I hope that (SK) Bagga ji and the party will register a huge win here. Bagga ji and his father have done a lot of work here, and we are hopeful that the party will win with a lot of votes," he asserted.
Reacting to the launch of AAP’s manifesto by the party supremo and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the senior AAP leader assured the public that the guarantees made in the manifesto will be fulfilled if the party is voted to power. “Arvind Kejriwal provided a lot of facilities like water and electricity and today the 15 guarantees given by him today will all be fulfilled when the AAP government comes into power."
Jitendra Singh Shunti has been fielded from Shahdara while BB Tyagi will enter the poll fray from Laxmi Nagar. Singh is among forty star campaigners from the party who will spearhead the party's campaign efforts in Delhi.
All Party MPs from Delhi and Punjab including Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Harbhajan Singh, as well as former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia have also been included in the list.
