In a bid to reduce private vehicles on the roads, the Uttar Pradesh State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is set to launch its Metro Feeder Bus Service in Ghaziabad from December 30.
The regional manager of UPSRTC PK Bose said, “We are encouraged by its trial although in its first round of trial, the strength of the passengers in the bus was quite low. But since it has not been publicised much, the response is positive.”
“State Transport Minister Mohammad Yashar Shah has given his consent to inaugurate the Metro feeder buses from old bus stand to Vaishali and Kaushambhi metro stations on December 30. The new bus service would not only help daily office goers to Delhi and other destinations, but would further help the Delhi Government to decongest the roads in its coming even odd policy from January 1,” added regional manager.
“Simultaneously, the public vehicles on the city road, especially on Mohan Nagar side, would be reduced substantially which will help reducing the pollution in the city air. So by introducing the metro feeder buses would provide the passengers a comfortable journey to their offices,” further added regional manager.
