A 30 year-old lady doctor, working with one of the city's reputed hospitals, was raped and sexually assaulted by her live-in partner on the pretext of marriage for the last one and half year.
The victim on Wednesday registered an FIR with the Gurgaon Police, alleging that one Mobeen Sayeed (32) was sexually assaulting and is on the run at present. The medical examination of the victim confirmed rape.
Sayeed, a native of Pune who worked with a private firm in Gurgaon, had met the victim in the hospital where she works one-and-half year ago.They started interacting and became good friends soon. Despite the fact that Sayeed was already married, the victim continued to keep in touch with him.
Initially, the victim often met him at different places in the city, including Sayeed's house. The accused always promised her that he would divorce his first wife soon.
Police said that whenever the woman asked about marriage, the accused sexually assaulted her. Both Sayeed and the victim were staying together at a rented accommodation in DlF Sector-14.
"Sayeed often made fake promises to the victim. He said that he had made all the documents in connection with the divorce and very soon he would be submitting them at the local court of Pune," said a senior police official, investigating the case.
later, the victim realised that Sayeed was fooling her. She approached the Civil lines Police Station where she narrated her ordeal to the police officials, alleging that Sayeed had raped her unnaturally and threatened her with dire consequences too. "The medical examination of the victim confirmed rape. After recording the statements of the victim, a case of Rape (376), Unnatural Sex (377), Threatening to kill person (506) and Criminal Conspiracy (120b) has been registered under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). We have constituted a team to nab the absconding person," said Surender Pal (DCP) West Gurgaon.
