Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta urged Union Urban Development Minister HS Puri that the Centre must take over the implementation of Delhi Metro Ph-4 and Delhi — Meerut Rapid Transit System projects in its own hands, citing alleged non-cooperation of the Delhi Government.
Gupta said the Centre must do away with any role of Delhi Government in these projects. He said that he would shortly call upon Union UD Minister to apprise him how Kejriwal Government is putting spokes in the wheel of Delhi’s development. “This proposal was forwarded to the Governments of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi on 9th December 2016.
While Uttar Pradesh Government had given its acceptance for the proposal in May 2017 but the Delhi Government did not react and gave its approval for thisimportant project to reduce congestion and pollution in Delhi,” he said.
