leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Thursday said the three-day World Culture Festival, being organised by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art of living on the floodplains of Yamuna from Friday, deserves to be welcomed by all the right-thinking people as it will provide the country window to the world the same way Swami Vivekanand’s address did at Chicago in USA in 1897.
“The Congress is criticising the event out of narrow political consideration. Gandhi went to JNU to support undesirable activities but he has problem with a cultural programme organised by Sri Sri. The Congress has incited the farmers to seek compensation notwithstanding the fact that farming is not permitted in catchment area of the Yamuna. Despite the fact, the organisers have already paid due compensation to farmers, who were affected,” said Gupta.
