Call it statistics of shame or rape-sheet of shame. Two cases of gang-rape were reported from Greater Noida on Monday. In the last three days, three cases of gang-rapes have been reported from Greater Noida. In the first case, a 13-year-old minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Monday evening in Badalpur’s Girdharpur Colony.
Police said the victim is a Dalit and two of the accused are minors and the other accused is a 19-year-old who lives in the same area. Police said the victim had gone to Girdharpur Colony market. On her way home, three youths on a bike waylaid her and took her to an isolated house in the area. The victim alleges they gagged her and raped her in turns. She was dumped near her house in an inebriated state. A neighbor chanced upon her and took her home.
The victim and her father reached Badalpur police station to register a complaint. “We have arrested those named in the FIR. Gautam Tiwari (19) along with two other minors has been arrested. They were presented before a juvenile court on Tuesday. The girl has been sent for a medical exam. No external or internal injury on her body was detected in the primary test. We are awaiting the supplementary report,” said Brijesh Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural) of Greater Noida.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a married woman has alleged that three men living in Bikhanpur village in Raupura area of Greater Noida gang-raped her. Four men purportedly held her family hostage at gunpoint while three men gang-raped her at home on Monday night.
According to police, the victim’s husband came to blows with some local toughies. Both sides lodged a police complaint. On Tuesday morning, the victim herself reached tehsil diwas and informed the Senior Superintendent of Police that she was gang-raped by three men at home while four held her family hostage. “We have taken note of her complaint and sent her for a medical exam. We are yet to arrest the accused named in the FIR,” said SP Rural.
