The Greater Noida authority plans to introduce a High-speed metro in the region which will connect Gautam Budh Nagar to IGI Airport. The proposed metro will start from Bodaki in Greater Noida — point of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) — which will go up to the International Airport via domestic in the Capital. The move is aimed to provide direct metro facility to thousands of visitors who come to the city during national and international events.

According to a senior official, the proposed metro line will go through Bodaki to airport via Sector 93 along with Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Badarpur, Tughlakabad, Khanpur and Mehrauli. The link will come up parallel to DMIC and will connect the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway route near Yamuna river area. Initially, the metro line will go up to domestic airport but will be extended to the International Airport later. The project is likely to be announced once the DPR will be prepared.

“As both Noida and Greater Noida are a favourite for most of the events, visitors face difficulties to reach the cities from airport. The proposed metro line will ease this problem as it will take less than an hour to reach here. Apart from this, it will also be helpful for thousands of city commuters who go to the airport daily via roads. The foreign delegates will also easily commute during international summits and racing events,” said a senior official of Greater Noida Authority.
