In order to make bus service more convenient for the students, studying at various colleges in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida Authority has decided to divert buses of Government’s Transport department towards the institutional hub.
With the move of the authority, thousands of students, going towards national Capital and other parts of NCR, will be able to avail the bus facility close to their colleges. This will save them the hassle of going to Pari Chowk for getting a bus. The problem of traffic jam due to buses and auto rickshaws at Pari Chowk will also minimise with this move.
Apart from this, authority has also ordered to put display screens on every bus along the lines of public transport buses in New Delhi. The plates will not only show the route number of a particular bus but it will also show details of its stoppages, timings and final destination. The overall information will be displayed on both back and front of the buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).
According to a senior official of Greater Noida Authority, the decision to run transport buses via Knowledge Park was taken keeping in view of increasing number of students in the
knowledge hub.
“As there are 88 institutes in the area of Knowledge Park alone, a big chunk of them commute daily from national Capital and other parts of NCR resulting in traffic problems in the area of Pari Chowk. With the plan to run buses via Knowledge park will ease the traffic problem at various roads of the city especially Pari Chowk,” said Yogendra Yadav, OSD of Greater Noida Authority.
As the commuters face hardship while boarding the buses of UPSRTC in absence of proper details regarding their routes, timings and destinations, we have directed the officials of UPSRTC to put display boards on every means of transportation approaching towards Noida and national Capital. We have also planned to put numbers of buses, their timings and other details at all bus stands between Greater Noida-Delhi route.
