Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday assured ‘guest teachers’ that the promises made by his Government will be fulfilled at any cost. He also said guest teachers will be provided facilities at par with the regular teachers.
Addressing teachers at Chhatrasal Stadium, Kejriwal said, “Our Government has proposed to provide Rs32,000 to primary teachers instead of current Rs17,500. TGT teachers will receive Rs33,000 instead of Rs20,000 and similarly the PGT teachers will be given a hike of Rs2,500, now they would be getting Rs35,500.
Kejriwal exhorted the teachers to perform better and improve the academic standard of Delhi Government schools.
“We had already proposed to increase the salaries of guest teachers by up to 90 per cent and the file pertaining to the matter was sent to lt Governor Najeeb Jung for his approval. We will soon meet lt Government to raise the issue.” said Kejriwal.
Praising teachers for improving the level of education in Government run schools, CM said even students of leading private schools are now opting for Government run schools.
