East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has issued 81 notices and five challans to various Government offices, educational offices and metro stations in its areas for providing conducive environment for mosquito breeding.
A senior EDMC official said that more inspections was carried out at 500 spaces on Tuesday and appropriate action was taken. He also said that the drive will be continued.
According to report released by South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), the domestic breeding checkers have found mosquito-breeding in 42,547 households in the city till June 30. It said 48,521 legal notices have been served for various violations and “3,506 prosecutions have been initiated”.
