The Deputy Chief Minister also unveiled special VAT portal dvat.gov.in/market for the market associations developed by the VAT Department. On this occasion, Sisodia distributed cash awards to 78 winners of the fourth draw of bill Banvao Inaam Award Scheme.

launching the Market Association Reward Scheme, Sisodia said the Delhi Government is committed to discourage the tax evasion and wishes to ensure that the tax paid by the people should actually be made available to the Government.  He said the Government has started  two major schemes (1) Bill Banvao Inaam Pao scheme  and  (2) Market Association Reward Scheme making both tax payers and the traders i.e. their representative associations Bhaghidars with the Government not only to check and discourage the tax evasion but also to encourage the taxpaying in order to increase the Government Revenue.

The Deputy CM said the revenue shared and awarded money under the scheme of Market Association Reward Scheme will be used for infrastructure and public amenities in the market.

“VAT shared with the market association and the cash award under the scheme will be used by the Market Association for development of public amenities in the market. It can also be used for development of other infrastructure and beautification of the market. The scheme will create a sense of pride among the market associations for becoming active partners in collection of VAT and contributing to the development of Delhi”.

“It will also likely to create competition among the markets in collection of tax revenue. The scheme is also likely to keep a tab on bogus dealers, nil tax payers, tax declining dealers and return defaulters. The Department of Trade and Taxes is confident that a large number of market associations in Delhi will come forward, get enrolled under the scheme and will actively participate in the scheme,” Sisodia said.
