Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai on Thursday visited the ration distribution centre set up in the primary school at Kardampuri in the Babarpur area. He said the distribution of ration is going on smoothly at centres. People are getting ration and also following guidelines of Covid-19.

“Ration is being distributed through a token system so that social distancing is maintained at the centres. Those who do not have a ration card and want to take ration, can come to the centre and take ration,” he said.“No problems are being faced here. People are coming in large numbers to get ration and people are getting a lot of relief because of this. People, who were without ration cards were facing a lot of troubles owing to the long lockdown, are now getting ration based on Aadhaar Cards. I want to say that all those people who are facing problems concerning ration can come here and get their ration so that they can support their families,” he added.

He said, “Things are going very smoothly. I have been touring different wards for the past 4 days. Here ration is being distributed through a token system and the distribution is taking place very smoothly. This is an open distribution system, and there is no fixed target. So if anyone does not have a ration card, they can take the same from here. Here people have been advised to maintain social distancing and it is because of this that a token system is in place so that overcrowding does not take place.”
