A 24-year-old golgappa seller was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of five men after he refused to serve them the fast food free of cost, in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area, late on Sunday night.

Police said the incident took place at around 12:30 am in I-block near Indra Park when Raju, the victim, along with his brother Umesh and father Radheshyam were returning home with their carts.

As per the complaint filed by Umesh, “A group of men were standing along the road near the Indra Park gate. They asked Raju to serve them golgappas free of cost. They alleged that they were goons of the area and if he did not serve them the fast food they would kill him.”

However, Raju allegedly replied that the golgappas had finished and his cart was empty and began moving away.

The men then gathered around Raju and started stabbing him with knives. Umesh and Radheshyam were far behind Raju when the attack took place.

By the time, Umesh and Radheshyam rushed to Raju’s rescue, he was lying on the ground bleeding profusely, while the attackers had left the spot.

Umesh rushed his brother to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police were also informed.

The accused have been identified as Vikki, Kali, Arvind, Raja and Anil, by the complainant. The police said that they have registered a case under relevant Sections of the IPC at the Mangolpuri Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
