A woman Information Officer with Ministry of Health was robbed of her gold chain on Wednesday morning. The incident took place when she was on her morning walk near India Gate. The snatchers managed to escape despite police presence in and around the India Gate.
The victim Manisha Verma said she was out on morning walk at 7.15 am in Kaka Nagar area near India Gate when a man walked up to her and snatched her gold chain.
“After snatching my gold chain, the snatcher walked a few meters towards his associate, who was waiting on a motorcycle. Before I could react, the duo fled on their motorcycle,” said the victim.
Police said a case has been registered and investigation is on in the case. “We have registered a case under section 379(theft) of the Indian Penal Code at the Tilak Marg police station,” said the official.
