Arvind Kejriwal is making baseless allegations against the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi just to take political advantage in the Lok Sabha polls, said Union Minister Vijay Goel.
Goel’s response came after Delhi Chief Minister alleged that the Prime Minister Nrendra Modi shares secret relations with Pakistan. "Kejriwal is remembering traders today because the parliamentary polls are a few days away. However, traders have already shown their support to the Modi Government in the Vyapaari Mahasammelan organized a month ago," he said.
Replying to the allegation of the Chief Minister in which he charged Modi of unleashing "tax terrorism" on traders and "destroying" the country's financial system, he said there is no tax-terrorism; instead, 95 per cent of items are at or below the Goods and Services Tax slab of 18 per cent.
Goel said everyone knows that the sealing drive is being carried out by the monitoring committee under the supervision of the Supreme Court. "We have been fighting against the sealing drive and voicing traders' concerns," he said, adding that the BJP has always supported traders and fought for their interests and appealed to traders not to be misled by Kejriwal.
Goel said that since Kejriwal is now unable to win a single seat, he is talking about introducing a bill on sealing issue. "The parties with whom he often shares stage have also never raised their voice against sealing. It is only the Bharatiya Janata Party which has been raising the issue.
Goel accused AAP to seek votes on religion. "A meeting took place on Saturday and was attended by Delhi minister Imran Hussain, and AAP MLAs Amnatuallah Khan and Asim Ahmed," Goel claimed.
"AAP told the Imams that its government had hiked their salary and therefore, they should campaign in its favour." "A team of the Election Commission and the Delhi Police raided the place of the meeting and collected evidence. I have also got a video clip as proof," Goel said.
"This is the reason people are deserting the AAP. Kejriwal has moved away from the agenda of development and full statehood for Delhi and is resorting to the politics of slaps and religion," Goel said attacking the Delhi chief minister.
Goel said Kejriwal got slapped after AAP East Delhi candidate Atishi Marlena asked people to beat up the public representatives who do not work".
