Building collapse

New Delhi: Angered over

the building collapse at Bara Hindu Rao, the BJP said it

was the Delhi Government's

fault as it had failed to redevelop the Walled City area, leading

to widespread illegal constructions. Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel also

targeted Chandni Chowk MP Kapil Sibal for ignoring the area.  "The Government has ignored

the redevelopment of Chandni Chowk rendering thousands of dilapidated buildings dangerous for residents, shopkeepers, traders and visitors.Even

basic civic amenities have not been provided in Chandni Chowk," Goel said after

visiting the collapsed

building site.

Goel, who has represented Chandni Chowk in lok Sabha twice, said, "One can see dangerous cobwebs of electric wires engulfing the by lanes of this area posing grave risk to common people," he alleged.
