After a wait of almost two weeks, the two most coveted universities of the Capital, Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will hold their student union elections on Friday. The results of the DU Students’ Union (DUSU) election will be declared Saturday, while the results of the JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) polls are expected to be announced Monday.
The management of elections in both the universities is different as DU has university authorities to take care of the election process, while JNU has students who look after the entire process. However, the Delhi University has seen more campaign colour this year. The polling in DU will be held from 8.30 am to 3 pm for day
classes and from 3 pm to 7 pm for the evening classes. There are seven candidates for the post of president, 32 for the post of vice president, 41 for secretary, and 34 for the post of joint secretary.
