She is a Class VI dropout and aspiring to become a choreographer. However, she took to committing street crimes in the national Capital to earn enough money to feed her family. She dressed up like a boy and even got a haircut similar to her “favourite” Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty.
However, she landed in police net on Wednesday when she was caught for robbing two students in Northeast Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area.
Police said that around 12.30 pm on Wednesday, a PCR call was received about a robbery in Karawal Nagar area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Northeast district, Dr Ajit Kumar Singla said, “On this, Assistant Sub Inspector Kiran Pal, along with Constable Sandeep reached the spot near Sri Ram Chowk in Shiv Vihar where the caller Manish Pal along with one of his friends met them and stated that while they were returning home after their coaching classes, they were stopped by one girl dressed like a boy who asked them to handover their belongings.”
The victims further told police that when they objected, the girl took out a surgical blade from her pocket and threatened them to hand over the mobile phone. “They got afraid and called for help but no one in the vicinity came forward. Meanwhile, the girl snatched the mobile phone and sped away. The duo, however, chased her and found the address of her residence,” added Singla.
Following the inputs, a raid was conducted and the accused was arrested. “During investigation, the accused was arrested and interrogated. The robbed mobile phone and one surgical blade used in the crime were also recovered from her instance. She disclosed that she is a primary class dropout and earlier used to teach dance. Since she could not do well in that to rise up to the level of a professional choreographer, she took to crime. It was also found that she lives with two other girls who claim that they are married to her,” Singla said.
Police on Thursday said that the woman has a number of cases like extortion and robbery reported against her. the DCP said that the woman, identified as a resident of Karawal Nagar, dressed up like the Bollywood star and lives with two women, who claim to be married to her. She usually used to target middle aged men and operated in the Karawal Nagar area, the DCP said.
