After the partial success of the first Car Free Day held on October 22, the second one will be held in Dwarka on November 22, between 8 am and 4 pm. A human chain involving local residents will be formed along the whole route to make them stakeholders in the campaign, said sources.

While Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had kicked off the first edition of the campaign by leading a cycle rally accompanied by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and other Ministers, this time it will be IAS, IPS, DANICS and DANIPS officers who will participate in the rally. Chief Minister Kejriwal may participate in the cycle rally, but it isn’t confirmed yet.

“The cycle rally will start and end at the Dwarka Sports Complex and will pass through Ashirvad Chowk and Ashok Chowk and will take a U-turn from Sector 3/13 intersection. It will cover around six kilometers,” said Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai.

However, the route for the Car Free Day will be from the intersection of Sectors 3 and 13 to the intersection of Sectors 7 and 9 on Road No 202. Extra DTC buses will run on the designated stretch for the convenience of the commuters.
