Gender Manifesto released by two women groups

To ensure that gender sensitive governance is practiced by the newly elected Government after the Assembly polls, two women’s organisations have released a Gender Manifesto for the acceptance of various political parties in the Capital. The manifesto outlines the demand of the women’s movement for the realisation of inclusive development.

The manifesto states that political parties should make strong commitments to address discrimination against women within their political manifestos for the upcoming Assembly and General Elections.

The Centre for Social Research and Women Power Connect released the unique manifesto on Thursday. “This is a historic and a first-of-its-kind initiative. The Gender Manifesto calls on political parties to take their responsibilities towards Indian women seriously and to take steps to guarantee gender equality in all sectors of society,” said Ranjana Kumari, Director, Centre for Social Research Centre (CSR).
