GDA to crack whip on home rules violators

Published on:

After complaints of irregularities in 20 per cent mandatory allotment of houses for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and low Income Group (lIG) categories from the integrated and high tech townships by private builders, GDA Secretary RM Godbole claimed that poor’s interests would be safeguarded by the authority and strict verifications of constructed units would be conducted. In recently held draw of 5,000 units of ESW and lIG categories, the violators would be dealt with accordingly.

Earlier providing documentary details to mediapersons, the Municipal Corporation vice chairman Rajendra Tyagi claimed that the procedure adopted in the draw held in June violated the State policy no. 39-37-1-93 dated 6/1/1993, which states that the dates, venue  and time of the draw  would be publicised widely in State and national level dailies but the advertisement was inserted  only in 10 copies in less circulated papers for the official record; rest of the dailies did not have the advertisement for which an inquiry has been ordered after the issue was raised.
