GDA razes 30 illegal shops in Vaishali

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on Wednesday razed 30 illegal shops in Vaishali residential colony. The demolition was carried out by the enforcement team with the help of Ghaziabad Police. “GDA had served notices to the shop owners in advance but the shop keepers continued with their business”, said GDA secretary Ravendra Godbole.

“The haphazard development of the city is creating multiple problems. First of all we have to make the city congestion free especially on major roads then we shall enter in city lanes” added the GDA secretary.

Officials of  GDA’s enforcement department claimed that inorder to  organise and systemise the commercial system, the authority has chalked out a plan. In the first phase the illegal properties are being identified. In the second phase the properties will be identified whether those are  being used as per the land use. Wherever commercial activities are be found in residential properties, those properties will be sealed. In the third phase new places will be screened where commercial hubs are to be developed on the model of Raj Nagar District Centre (RDC).

Under the new guidelines of the new government all types of illegal activities are being curbed, an official said.

“It is the will of the government and we are committed to comply with the government orders. If any public representative has any objection he can seek the government direction. We shall comply accordingly” added the GDA official.

Meanwhile shopkeepers said that Sunil Sharma the BJP MlA from Sahibabad seat has assured us but nothing has been done so far.
