The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), in its 140-member board meeting, passed a proposal to sanction the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in its forthcoming Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand Metro track.
Although the approval of signing the MoU by the authority has been sent for clearance from the UP Cabinet, its approval was mandatory from its board, which has been passed on Monday without any opposition from any member, said GDA Officer on Special Duty (OSD) RP Pandey while addressing a Press conference after the board meeting.
In its second major important decision, the GDA board froze its parity with the DM circle rate till September 2014. The decision was taken in view of the poor response from buyers to its auctions in the past few months. After maintaining parity with the DM circle rate, the prices ought to spiral since the imposition of 22 per cent infrastructure, lease rent and freehold charges in authority auctions.
Further, a budget of Rs 3,051 crore for the current financial year has also been cleared by the board in its meeting. Out of the 25 proposals presented in the board meeting, 23 were passed while two proposals were deferred to the next meeting. Other important proposals which the board cleared included purchase of a hydraulic lifting crane for Ghaziabad Police. The lease of two other hydraulic lifts has also been extended for six months. The GDA board allotted 7,500 square metre for a 132 kV power station in Madhuban Bapudham residential colony and carved out a plot of the same size for the 54 residential plots to be auctioned.
