Two men allegedly drugged and gangraped a 21-year-old woman in Southwest Delhi’s Kakrola village on Wednesday night after abducting her from Gurugram, police said. The accused, identified as Sunil (26) and Himmat(22) have been arrested, said DCP(Southwest) Surender Kumar.

The woman, a resident of Gurugram, was injured while trying to escape through a bathroom window of the flat where she was confined in, police said. One of the suspects — Himmat — was also injured trying to stop her, police said.

The third-floor flat where the alleged crime took place belonged to Nitin but he wasn’t present and Sunil had the keys to the place, police added.

Police said Sunil locked the woman with Himmat in the room around 8 pm and left for some work.

An hour later, the woman regained consciousness and attempted to flee through the bathroom window. Himmat rushed into the bathroom to stop her. She lost her balance and fell fifteen meters down the shaft and so did Himmat, officials said. They suffered injuries in their back and legs.

local residents heard the crash and called the police control room, thinking thieves had fallen into the shaft while trying to break into one of the flats. “We took them to DDU hospital from where the woman was shifted to Safdarjung hospital for better treatment,” said a police officer.

Himmat was arrested from the hospital and his interrogation led to the arrest of Sunil. Police also seized the cab.
