A man working at Gandhi Samarak Nidhi at Raj Ghat in central Delhi allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Saturday evening, police said on Monday.
The deceased identified as 35-year-old Raju was a labourer. According to a senior police official, a security personal at Gandhi Smarak Nidhi informed police that children from a school run for divyangs saw Raju hanging from the tree and told their teacher about it who later called police.
"Raju was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police have sent his body for postmortem," said the senior police official.
Police are suspecting it to be a case of suicide. A probe has been initiated, said the official.
