The district administration of Gurugram will form a structural audit team within ten days to address complaints of 60 colonies and group housing societies which were received in the last two years regarding irregularities in the construction of buildings.
District Commissioner Gurugram, Nishant Kumar Yadav, held a meeting on Thursday with building structural experts and members of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).
Yadav has also asked for suggestions from the experts, which will be submitted to the administration within two days. "It is very important to prepare a draft of the action plan by making arrangements for permanent settlement of these complaints and structural audit of the complaints received," Yadav said.
Yadav stated that for redressal of complaints work is being done in the direction of finding a permanent solution for structural audit with experts and residents. "A policy is also being prepared by the State Government. Before preparing this policy, suggestions are being invited from the stakeholders and experts related to it so that roadmap for future can be prepared by removing the shortcomings so that there is no recurrence of incidents like Chintal," Yadav added.
He informed that after the accident in Chintels Paradiso, the issue of structural audit of high rise buildings has been raised by the members of several group housing societies and RWAs in the district. "It is necessary that by dividing these complaints into different categories, an action plan should be made to solve them. Although most of these complaints are related to the structure of the building, it is necessary to work on dividing these complaints into Moderate, Serious and Critical categories," Yadav added.
