The Delhi Police has arrested two persons, including a woman, in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl from Chattisgarh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, (south-east district), Romil Baaniya said the accused has been identified as Haseena alias lado (25) and Arman alias Ibrahim alias John. Three other accused, identified as Mohammad Afroz, Zakir and Pappu Yadav, in connection to the case were arrested in February Haseena and Armaan were absconding since then.

Haseena and Armaan are in a live-in relationship. The couple allegedly used to lure girls on the pretext of providing them a good job and future and then sell them off, the police official said.

The victim had arrived from Chhattisgarh to Delhi after a minor fight with her parents. At New Delhi Railway Station, she met Armaan who assured her that he would help her get a good job and find a match for her.

He raped her with the help of Haseena, they added. When the victim resisted, she was kept locked in a room. The couple then sold her for Rs 70,000 to Pappu Yadav so that he could marry the minor. She was living in Faridabad for close to two months with Pappu who physically and mentally tortured her, the DCP said.

She then somehow left her house and reached Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station where Haseena met her and gave her a spiked drink, police said. When she fell semi-conscious, Haseena handed her over to one Mohammad Afroz (22). He raped her near the railway station and paid the sum to Haseena, he added.

The victim somehow managed to escape and was noticed by a BSF personnel who made a call to 181, the women’s helpline and she was rescued by Delhi Commission For Women (DCW). Accused, Mohd Afroz, Zakir and Pappu Yadav were arrested but Haseen and Arman had left their rented place in Sarai Kale Khan and were absconding, said Baaniya.

On April 11, Haseena and Arman were arrested on the basis of a tip-off from near Sarai Kale Khan red light.

“During interrogation, they revealed that they had lured another victim in the same way and then sold her off. We have started searching for the girl,” said the police official. Both the accused were produced before the court and are in two days police custody.
