A dental student was allegedly robbed of his wallet, mobile phone and his motorbike by his own friends after they called him on the pretext of dinner late on Sunday night. The accused men not only forced him to sign on a blank paper stating that he wishes to sell his motorcycle but also stripped him and videographed the episode.
According to police, the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday when three of the victim’s friends asked him to come out for dinner at a local eatery. When the victim reached the location, his friends started beating him up to settle old scores. In his complaint to police, the victim stated that the accused men first beat him, then shot a video of him after stripping him. “They wrote an agreement and forced me to sign on it. I refused but then one of the accused, identified as Zubair, took out a knife-like contraption and stabbed me on the left side near my hip. They tripped me and also made a video of the entire episode. Out of pain, I signed on it,” read the FIR.
The accused men then called his brother posing as police officials and claimed that his bike had been impounded during a picket checking and asked his brother to bring all documents related to his motorcycle.
“When his brother reached the location, he found him lying in a pool of blood and immediately informed the police. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was discharged after treatment,” said a police official. A case under appropriate Sections was registered at Jagatpuri police station. Zubair was arrested by the police on Monday morning.
