The disclosure of Manoj Kumar Sahi that he lured the hapless five-year-old girl on insistence of his friend Pradeep has been countered by the latter during his interrogation by the Delhi Police.
Pradeep has told the interrogators that the statement of Manoj is concocted and that Manoj was the one who brought the girl inside the room and raped her first. “Manoj first spotted the girl playing outside the four-storey building following which he lured the girl on the pretext of giving her packet of chips and took her inside his room where he first raped her,” sources said quoting the accused Pradeep.
They said that Manoj had shifted to this rented accommodation 25 days ago and after a few days, his wife also came and stayed here along with him for around three days. “Manoj is a native of Bharthua Panchayat under Auraiya police station area of Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district and he left his native place for Delhi around 20 years ago. Four years ago, he was staying in a rented flat in Ram Vihar Colony, loni, where he came in contact with Pradeep and their friendship deepened and they used to meet regularly,” the sources added.
Initially, the accused Manoj tried to mislead the investigators with a fabricated story and blaming Pradeep for the rape. But after the arrest of Pradeep, the clear picture has emerged. Pradeep told the police that they had a weekly off on last Monday. “On the morning of April 15, Manoj had gone to Pradeep’s elder sister’s residence in Ram Vihar Colony where after cooking meat, they brought a bottle of liquor — ‘Party Special Brand’ for around Rs 150. Around 4.30 pm, they left for Manoj’s residence in Gandhi Nagar,” the sources added.
Police sources said that they came back and purchased food for night. They were carrying a liquor bottle and in an inebriated condition, Manoj told him that he has to receive the some due money from his former employer and they both went to Old Seelampur in his house but he was not present at his home so they came back. They were looking for a sex worker to satiate their lust. “On their way, they met the former employer in a market in Old Seelampur where he gave him his money. later, Manoj along with Pradeep came at his room in Amar Mohalla,” the sources added.
After reaching home, they again consumed liquor and also watched a porn video clip on their cell-phones. “Around 6.30 pm, Manoj came out of his room and spotted his neighbour’s 5-year-old daughter who was playing outside the building. She used to call him ‘uncle’ and he lured her after offering a packet of chip and took her to his room where Pradeep was already present. He asked her to take off her clothes and directed Pradeep to go outside the room to keep a watch,” police sources said.
Manoj allegedly raped the girl but she started crying and immediately Pradeep came inside the room. “Manoj asked Pradeep to tie her limbs and gag her mouth. He later raped her and to stop the bleeding, he first inserted a 200 ml hair oil bottle but when it did not stop, then he inserted a candle. This caused multiple injuries in her private parts and her internal organs were damaged. When she became unconscious, Pradeep then raped her,” interrogators said.
“After raping her, Manoj asked him to strangulate her but he became nervous. Manoj forced him and with the fear of arrest, he strangulated her but remained unsuccessful. They also attacked her using a blade. They later cleaned the blood from their bed sheet and after locking the door, they left home at 7 pm to catch Swatantrata Senani Express from New Delhi Railway station which left Delhi at 8.30 pm. Pradeep also went Manoj’s village in Muzaffarpur,” he added.
