Tension continued to prevail in Bisara village of Dadri after a 26-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home. His family members have alleged that he committed suicide because he was being tortured by the police during interrogation of the lynching incident.
Police said that the deceased has been identified as Jay Prakash who lived along with his family in Bisara village. He was found unconscious lying inside his house around 11.30 am.
Police said he was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. However, police are yet to confirm if he consumed poison or was murdered.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem to ascertain the reason for death. The incident is either suicide or murder. It will be cleared after autopsy report,” said Sanjay Singh, Superintendent of police, (Rural), Greater Noida.
He, however, denied any police interrogation with him related to the lynching. “Women staged protest alleging that he committed suicide over police interrogation, but police have never picked him,” SPRA said.
Jay Prakash was a contractor and lived along with his wife and other family members in Bishara village.
Meanwhile, a day after the Indian Air Force promised to extend all help to Mohhamamed Sartaj — a corporal with the Indian Air Force whose father was lynched a week ago in Bisara village of Dadri, Sartaj on Tuesday said that he has decided to shift their family members along with injured brother Danish to Chennai.
District Magistrate NP Singh has confirmed the shifting of Akhlaq’s family. “Sartaj met me and he wants to shift his family to Chennai for better treatment of Danish. We have assured the family for fullproof security and better treatment in Gautam Budh Nagar but if they wished to leave. I could not stop them.”
