The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has proposed the names of around 47 unauthorised colonies to the State Government for regularisation. Following which chances are that colonies whose proposal for regularisation was moved last year will be regularised within the next two or three months.
The MCG will approve these colonies along with their respective Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWA) so that development money can be sent to their accounts. “Residents and RWAs of the unauthorised colonies will have to bear fifty per cent of the development charge for the colonies and the Government will approve a loan for the remaining amount,” said officials. Earlier, the administration had conducted a survey of 60 colonies.
The MCG will provide the residents with basic amenities like electricity, water, streetlights, roads and sewage disposal system.
The MCG officials said the residents of the 47 colonies, after being regularised can deposit the nominal development charges, after which they can avail the services provided by the municipal corporation.
Earlier, 44 such colonies in the city had received sanctions from the State Government. “The colonies which will be regularised, have to pay development charge of `150 per square yard and in future, it will be around 1 thousand to 1500 per square yard,” senior MCG town planner Sudhir Chauhan said.
“Development in the colonies are not free as the residents of the colonies have to pay normal charges and we will approve these colonies with the RWA,” he added.
The list of colonies which have been proposed for regularisation includes Cancon Colony (Part I & II), Bhim Colony, Basai Enclave-2, Chandan Vihar, Area around Saria Alawardi Village, Area around Harsaru Village, Ganga Vihar, Area around Choma Village, Hari Nagar Ext, Ratan Vihar phase-II. Vishnu Garden part-II, Sai Kunj, Shri Ram Colony, Amanpura Colony, Devi lal Colony, New Jyoti Park, Patel Nagar Ext, Shiv Nagar, Vikas Nagar, Basai Enclave Ext, Saraswati Enclave Ext, Krishna Nagar, Surat Nagar Phase-I Ext.
