Free healthcare, edu key to US’ dev, ours too: Jain

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday said the US and the UK developed because of free and quality healthcare and education.

Lauding the policies of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government, Jain said that the Kejriwal Government was also making similar efforts in the national Capital. “The Delhi Government is the only one working to provide quality amenities to the underprivileged,” he said after inaugurating a multipurpose community centre at Alipur Village in Narela. “We have fulfilled Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s promise to the people here for a centre and our work speaks for itself. The Delhi Government is for the people and by the people. It was due to the people’s support only that the Kejriwal Government got 90 per cent seats in Delhi consecutively which is historic in itself,” Jain said.

He further said: “Will is the key to achieving anything; no task is impossible, but requires the kind of commitment which previous Governments did not show.”

On providing free electricity and water and being accused of doing politics of free services, Jain said if the Delhi Government is judiciously using public money and giving it back to the people through free and quality services then what is the harm. “We have not introduced any new tax and we will continue to work tirelessly to find innovative ways of delivering the most appropriate policies for the people,” Jain concluded.

Along with Jain, Narela Member of Legislature Assembly Sharad Kumar Chauhan and senior officers of the department were also present.
