Four criminals looted Rs2.25 lakh cash, laptop, mobile phone and other articles from a company executive in a moving car on Monday at Greater Noida Expresway.
Police said Prashant Chaudhary, an executive working with India Bull at sector 62 Noida, left his office at 7.30 pm and took a local bus for sector-37 terminus where he took a Swift Dzire presuming that it was a cab.
The executive received a phone call and as soon as he finished talking, the two criminals who were sitting on the back seat snatched his mobile phone and tied his hands and legs, said police. They beat him up, snatched the bag, which contained a laptop, mobile phone, some clothes and Rs2 lakh which he had brought from his father on Monday from Hastinapur, said officials.
According to police, they forced him to reveal the ATM pin code to withdraw money from his ICICI bank ATM card. They stopped the car near an ATM kiosk and one of them, whom they called Pandit, withdrew Rs25,000/- from P2 Builders branch of ICICI Bank ATM Kiosk.
After robbing him, they drove him to an abandoned area beyond P-3 chowk and asked him to go.
The victim managed to reach Kasna police station on late Monday night and registered a case with police.
"We have registered the case and attempts are being made to arrest the culprits. The CCTV footage has been taken out from the ICICI Bank ATM where the criminal was seen withdrawing money. He remained in the kiosk for over 8 minutes," said Investigation Officer Satendra Malik.
