Foreign angle probe work of fiction: Delhi Police

Published on:

lashing out at the media for spreading false rumours, Delhi Police on Tuesday emphasised that they will no be probing any foreign angle into the death of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar. Several sections of media reports in the past week have stated that the police would be probing a foreign angle into the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, who was found dead in a suite of a five-star hotel in January this year.

“The reports are just rumours, not concrete. They are mere speculations by people themselves. Neither a team is going abroad nor is there any foreign link with regard to the case,” said a senior police official. Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi last Friday had said that one should not go by media reports and only believe what is being said officially. The Police Commissioner has also said that the inquest proceedings are on and they have not reached any conclusion in the case. “We don’t reveal anything about a case unless we have arrived at a conclusion. Investigation details are not shared on a daily basis.

Some people are needlessly sensationalising it,” Bassi said.
