Forced kiss lands cabbie in police custody

A 25-year-old private school cab driver was arrested for molesting a five-year-old KG student of a private school in South Delhi's Defence Colony area on Thursday. The matter came to the fore when the victim informed her mother about the molestation after reaching home. The accused is not the driver of the school van in which the minor used to go to school, said girl’s mother in her complaint. “The driver of another van groped the girl and kissed her when she was sitting in the school van.” 

The accused identified as Mehfooz, a resident of Okhla in South Delhi, used to run a private cab, picking up students of higher classes. The girl's father, who lives in CR Park in Southeast Delhi, informed police about the incident after which action was taken.Soon after the complaint was lodged at Defence Colony Police Station, SHO Defence Colony Police Station Kuldeep Singh, along with his team, immediately reached the school and nabbed the accused driver after the girl pointed at the accused. 

A case under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act was registered and the cab driver was arrested. The girl's father told police that his daughter and a few more children of the same school used a privately hired school van for the past some months. “On Wednesday, the girl and two more students of her class sat inside the van while the van driver had gone to bring other students of higher classes. Mehfooz who was also waiting for students of his van came close to the girl, groped her and kissed her. The girl felt suffocated due to that forceful act,” said a police officer.
