Angry with his parents for not allowing to keep a girlfriend, a 25-year-old youth hatched a plan and got his elderly parents bumped off by hired killers. He gave supari to two men and paid Rs 2.5 lakh each to assist him in the brutal murder of his parents. Identified as Abdul Rahman, the accused was the only son of the elderly couple. He hatched the plan with Nadeen and Guddu.
During sustained interrogation, Abdul confessed that he killed his parents to meet the needs of maintaining his relationship with the Kanpur based girlfriend and to meet his expenses on drugs.
According to Chinmoy Biswal, DCP, Southeast, Abdul and his accomplice Nadeem Khan have been arrested while a third accused, is still on the run.
Abdul confessed that he killed his parents who refused to let him stay in touch with his girlfriend. "Abdul was married for one and the half years but was divorced. However, for past the one year, he had stopped pursuing his job and stayed at home. A drug addict, Abdul forced his parents to let him marry a girl whom he had met on facebook and lived in Kanpur.
The Delhi Police unraveled the mystery of the double murder of the elderly couple after they found that the statement given by Abdul was full of inconsistencies.
Shamim Ahmed (55) and his wife Taslim Bano were found dead at their first floor residence in the Zakir Nagar area of Jamia Nagar on
April 28,.
"Biswal said, "During the course of investigation, we have questioned the deceased couple's son, Abdul. He seemed to be ignorant how his parents died. He told us that it was only later that when his parents did not open their door, he raised an alarm. The team also examined the crime scene but could not make a breakthrough.
Ruling out robbery as the angle, police had said all the valuables including Rs 5.25 lacs and the jewellery were found intact. However, a month later, cops studied the post-mortem report carefully and found that the couple was smothered. Following which we registered a case of murder. The technical movements of Abdul were also thoroughly scanned.
On May 21, Abdul was questioned again. It was then that he broke down and confessed to killing his elderly parents.
"He said he met Nadeem, a carpenter of Nangloi and Guddu, a tailor through his friend Rehan. On the night of April 27, at around 11pm, while Shamim and Taslim were sleeping, Abdul called Nadeem and Guddu. While Guddu caught hold Taslim Bano, Nadeem Khan caught hold of Shamim Ahmed and Abdul Rehman smothered them mercilessly one by one by putting bed sheet and blanket on their faces. Abdul revealed that his parents put up a lot of fight. In the scuffle, Shamim bit Nadeem's left hand index finger," said the DCP.
The DCP added, "As per their plan, Nadeem Khan and Guddu left the house and Abdul Rehman remained in the house. He locked the door of the flat from outside as it had the mechanism wherein they could be locked automatically from inside when closed from outside. Abdul pretended to be innocent. He called up his relatives. While Abdul was arrested from Jamia Nagar, Nadeem was arrested from Nangloi. Raids are being conducted to arrest the third associate Guddu."
