The Greater Noida Police have rescued five youth, including three girls who were allegedly kidnapped by four persons in Greater Noida on Wednesday. The victims, all residents of Agra, had come to the city looking for jobs but were abducted and kept hostage in a farmhouse. The kidnappers had demanded Rs 10 lakh from their kin and had threatened to eliminate the captives if the demand was not met. Meanwhile, police have arrested two of the accused and have recovered a Honda city, WagonR and pistols from their possession.

According to police, the incident came to light late evening when a PCR call was received from a victim Bablu (26) late night that he along his sister and three other friends have been kidnapped by his friend Sumit Bhati and his three accomplices namely Afzal, Sameer and lekhram, all aged between 20 to 22 years, in a farmhouse at an undisclosed location. The location of the phone was traced to Khedi Chauganpur village and a raid was conducted where police nabbed Sumit and Afzal while the remaining two managed to flee.

Police said that Bablu has been temporarily living in Greater Noida and was friends with Sumit who forced him to bring his sister, friend Ravindra and two sisters of Ravindra (25) for jobs. The accused had also said that he was on good terms with owners of a few companies who will help them in securing jobs. When the victims reached Pari Chowk around 3.30 pm, Sumit sidled up in a Honda City and asked them to reach the farmhouse to meet a company owner. When the victims, along with Sumit, reached the farmhouse they were kept hostage at gunpoint and beaten up. The accused forced them to dial their families for ransom and snatched their phones and other belongings. Bablu called police with a phone which was on silent mode and tucked away in the recesses of his pocket.

“We have arrested two accused and are interrogating them. We have also been searching two of their associates who were there at the crime scene and other gang members too. We have also sent the victims along with their parents to their native district,” said Anoop Kumar, Circle Officer-III of Greater Noida.
