First improve Capital's schools, hospitals, then give advice: Bidhuri

BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri told Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to first improve Delhi's schools and hospitals, and then advise someone. “Kejriwal is promoting that free education is provided in Government schools and free treatment is given in hospitals in Delhi.

This is happening all over the country, and it is the moral responsibility of every State Government that it is bound to fulfill. The question is, how quickly is the State Government doing this work? The Delhi Government has completely failed in this matter,” Bidhuri said. He said that in the last seven years, not a single new school opened in Delhi, but 16 Government schools were closed, and dozens of schools were merged with other schools.

Bidhuri said that out of 1,027 Government schools, only 203 have principals, on which the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights itself had issued a notice to the Delhi Government. There are no vice-principals in 418 schools and 24 thousand posts of teachers are lying vacant. Guest teachers were appointed on 22 thousand posts, but none of them were made permanent. This year there has been a decline of more than 15 per cent in the class X Board results.

Most of the Government schools in Delhi do not have science and commerce, education, then how will the students of these schools become engineers, doctors, or CAs?

“The Kejriwal Government could not build a single new hospital in Delhi. He should not try to mislead the public based on lies only,” he said. Bidhuri said that the Delhi Government has also failed in the matter of higher education and salaries are not being paid for months in 12 Delhi Government-funded colleges. The work of Skill University in Jaunapur has been pending for years.
