A major fire broke out at a building in South-East Delhi’s Sunlight Colony on Tuesday killing one person. According to a senior fire official, the fire broke out around 1:30 pm and six fire tenders had reached the place to douse the fire.
“The deceased has been identified as Ratan Singh (80), who was stitching in a shop in the building. We discovered him after a police and a fire team entered the building for cooling operations. He was rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre by a PCR van and doctors declared him dead after trying to resuscitate him. His body was thereafter sent to the mortuary for post-mortem,” said a police officer.
