Breaking the ten years’ record of help-calls reported to fire services, this year more than 400 calls were reported to the Delhi Fire Service control room across the national Capital on Diwali evening.
However this Diwali happened to be safer one as no major fire incidents broke out in any part of the city. According to senior fire officials, 290 fire-related calls were received till midnight, of which 46 came before 2 PM while 65 followed over the next six hours. “Where 6 PM to 9 PM was reported to be the peak hours when majority calls were reported, 128 calls were reported after midnight,” said the official of the fire department.
