Timely action by the fire department in Ghaziabad averted a major fire disaster here. Police said on Tuesday morning that a citizen volunteer force (CVF) member Rishi Raman Singh informed the SP city Aksh Tomar that flames were seen in a residential apartment building in lN Apartment on plot number 236 in Nyay Khand block of Indirapuram residential locality.

The SP City rushed fire tenders to the spot which snapped power supply and doused the fire. On being investigated it was found that fire started due to the leakage in pipeline of  piped natural gas (PNG) being used in kitchens of apartments building.

" If fire service would have reached lately, it could have been difficult to control the fire. But due to the CVF members  timely arrival a major fire outbreak could be controlled and disaster averted," said SP City Akash Tomar.

The gas company engineers fixed the leakage and gas supply was restored after the fire tender officials left the spot, said SP City.
