In fresh trouble for Aam Aami Party (AAP) legislature from Okhla Assembly seat, the Delhi Police has registered a case of assault on a complaint by a resident of Shaheen Bagh.

“MlA Amanatullah Khan and his supporters have been named in the FIR registered at Jamia Police station.  Investigation in the matter is underway," said a senior South East Delhi Police officer.

The case was registered on the complaint of activist Syed Taseer Ahmad, under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 341(wrongful restraint), 25(causing hurt), 34 (criminal act done by several persons with common intention) at Jamia Nagar police station last night, in which he alleged that about 50 men, including the Okhla MlA attacked him near Hamza Square leading to injuries around 9.30 pm on October 16, police said.

Amanatullah said police  registered the case without proper investigation on false charges.

"At the time of the alleged assault I was not there instead I was at Pocket 9 A in Jasola. I cannot be at two places at the same time. Police knows that I was not in the crowd that allegedly attacked the complaint but they still filed the FIR under pressure," he said.
