Delhi Police on Friday arrested the fifth accused in the robbery and murder case of Vivek Vihar businessman Bajrang lal Bokadia and his employees.

The accused has been identified as Balwan. Fifty one bangles, 31 necklaces, nine chains, 20 rings, four bracelets, seven nose pins, three pairs of earrings, three pendants, three brooches, three mangalsutras, 10 wristwatches, 83 silver coins and weapons used in the crime have been recovered.

“Mona Duggal, the prime accused, did not initially disclose Balwan’s name since he is her maternal uncle. Mona said that he was suffering from tuberculosis. Balwan’s wife had left him and had registered a dowry case against him,” said Ravindra Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch). Balwan’s brother, Rajiv, is already in Dasna jail in connection with the case.

It may be recalled that on August 19, Bokadia and his three domestic helps were found murdered at his Vivek Vihar residence. Initially, four arrests were made in the case. Mona (Bokadia’s nephew’s wife), Rajiv (Mona’s uncle), Harjeet (Mona’s brother) and Sanjay (Harjeet’s friend) were the prime suspects.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were under huge debt. Sanjay and Harjeet were planning a robbery as they needed to repay the loans. Mona suggested Bokadia's house as she was aware of his wealth and whereabouts of various members in the family.
