Distraught at her husband abandoning her after wedlock, a 26-year-old woman committed suicide in South Delhi’s Katwaria Sarai area. The incident was discovered on Tuesday morning. According to the police, the incident took place around 8 am on Tuesday when the deceased identified as larima was alone at her residence.
The incident was discovered by the house owner when he reached the residence to collect his monthly rent. On getting no response, he peeped from the window and saw her hanging from the ceiling fan with her dupatta. He immediately made a PCR call and informed the police.
Police investigations revealed that larima had recently eloped with Satendra and married him. The couple was staying at a rented accommodation in the area for the last seven months or so. Police officials revealed that Satendra along with their child left the residence 10 days back. local people told police that the woman was upset over the fact that her husband did not return for more than six days and felt ‘dumped’.
