In a shocking incident, a father-mother duo has been killed while two of their children are reportedly missing from a village of Greater Noida, police said on Sunday, adding that the victim family was missing for many days but the matter came into light on Saturday night.

After recovering body of one of the deceased and searching for others, police have registered a case against two persons and have arrested one of them.

According to police, a family of Vedprakash, his wife Kamlesh, a 13-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son were living in Bambawad village under jurisdiction of Badalpur police station. "Vedprakash was a farmer having several bighas. From August 1, the family went missing and their mobile phones were switched off. The villagers tried to search for them but they were untraceable.

"Vedprakash's younger brother Omprakash approached police, who were told that two youths - Salman and Pradeep close to the family - were also missing since the incident took place. As the complainant suspected hands of the two, who run electric shop in the village, police launched a manhunt and one of them, Salman, was arrested late night," said officials.

Police claimed that during the questioning, he confessed of killing both father and mother but maintained silence over their children. After his revelation, police recovered decomposed body of Vedprakash from NTPC area. Police have started a massive search operation to recover body of the other deceased.

Police, after conduction postmortem, handed the body to other family members. "We have registered a case under appropriate sections and have started investigation," said a police official investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the incident led to tension in and around the village and a huge police force was deployed to avert any untoward incident. Police have reportedly cordoned off the village.

"We have demanded swift action otherwise we will take the matter to upper level and if required, we will organise protests," said an angry villager.
