A day after the arrest of five people in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old businessman Rohan Gupta in south Delhi's Chattarpur area, police have sent five teams to Bihar to investigate the case as all the accused are from Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.
Police are also probing a link between Gupta's former domestic cook, a native of Bihar who was sacked from his job and not given salary. Police suspect that the cook may have played a role in briefing about the topography of Gupta’s farmhouse.
"We have formed five police teams who will conduct a search around entire Bihar to find out whether there is someone who ordered the five accused to come all the way to Delhi to conduct the robbery. We are also investigating whether there is a link between the former domestic help of Gupta and the accused. Gupta's ex-help Pawan is also from Bihar. Police team will investigate in Bihar to find out more leads in the case," said a senior police official.
Paying heed to the security question of the entire DlF Chhatarpur plot, which has a capacity of housing over 100 farmhouses, police has asked the chief security officer at the farmhouse to check whether all the CCTV in the plot are working. It is interesting to note that the CCTV camera located outside Gupta's house was defunct for the last nine years.
"We have asked the administration and the chief of security at DlF Chhatarpur to check whether any of the CCTV's in the entire plot is defunct or not. We have also asked to increase private security guards on the plot so that there is constant patrolling around the entire area. DlF Chhatarpur is a posh locality. Apart from this, we have also placed police checkposts at all the 6 six gates of DlF Chattarpur," said the police official.
Police have also asked the private security guards to question unknown people entering the farmhouse plot, no matter what time they come.
"Guards told us that they used to question unknown people entering the plot after 10 pm, but now we have asked them to question anyone who is not known by face irrespective of the time," said the official.
In a sensational incident of robbery, businessman Gupta who lived in 'Peeple Drive' in DlF Chattarpur, was choked to death by a gang of five robbers on Thursday. Police have arrested all the accused.
