The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Sunday caught a man who was posing himself as a jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Chandini Chowk Metro Station.

The man identified as Nadeem Khan is a native of Uttar Pradesh (UP’s) Shamili district. “The alleged accused was found suspicious wearing khaki uniform alike the CRPF jawans near gate number 3 Exit Automatic Fair Checking (AFC) AFC at Chandni Chowk metro station.

On suspicion, a physical search was carried out in presence of senior officers of CISF and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). During the search, two Aadhar Cards with different Date of Birth, Father’s Name and addresses and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession,” said a CISF official.

On enquiry, he did not give any satisfactory reply and was not having any ‘Force ID Card’ or any proof of being a force member. Further, when the official insisted, Khan claimed that he was a trainee of CRPF and presently having training from CRPF RTC Mohan Nagar at Srinagar (J&K), said the official.

During the search, the man also claimed that he came from RTC on leave to attend his mother’s funeral at Shamli (UP). However, a check with the CRPF centre in Srinagar and Shamli police found both his claims to be false.

“We contacted CRPF Control Room who further contacted Mohan Nagar RTC and informed that no such trainee of said name was present in their RTC. Subsequently, UP Police (Shamli, Police Station) was also contacted and it was found that his parents are fine and are present at home,” added the CISF official.

The CISF has handed over the suspicious man along-with all recovered items to the Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP)  Kashmere gate for further legal action in the matter and to find out his motive.
