A fake advisory in the name of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were doing rounds on the social media by some unidentified person saying 'a health emergency has been declared by the Government due to which all the schools and colleges should be closed and mid-term examinations has been postponed'. However, Sisodia confirmed it as a fake circular being circulated by his name.
"Fake letter circulating on social media regarding school, college closure till November 8. So far schools have been closed till November 5; any further decision shall be communicated through proper channels only. All are advised not to believe on such fake letters or news," Sisodia tweeted.
The advisory was full of spelling mistakes and had wrong address and pin code numbers. However, schools, colleges and students got confused with the fake letter doing rounds in the social media sites such as FaceBook (FB) Instagram, Whatsapp and Twitter.
The circular read, "A health emergency has been declared in Delhi by the environment pollution authority due to non-tolerate levels of air pollution making Delhi a gas chamber. In the interest of health and safety of children, it has been decided to keep all the schools and colleges in the NCT of Delhi closed till December 8 and also education minister decided to postpone all the school and college exams till December."
The letter which was with full of wrong sentence and spelling mistakes were assumed to be drafted some students, said government officials.
"Official Notice has been issued to all the schools and colleges. Directorate of education to issue necessary notification immediately and ensure due publicity is given to this," the fake advisory read further.
