In a tragic incident, the daughter of principal of Delhi Public School, RK Puram DR Saini allegedly committed suicide at the staff quarters on the school premises on Tuesday night. The deceased identified as Anjana Saini (29) was working with Indiabulls as a manager. Anajana had left a suicide note in which she had mentioned about her relationship with a man, who refused to marry her. She, however, stated in the suicide note that no one should be held responsible for her death.
According to the police, the incident took place around 9 pm on Tuesday. She killed herself by hanging from a ceiling fan with dupatta, police said. The body was discovered by her mother. She raised an alarm and called her husband and son. They immediately brought down the body and rushed her to Fortis Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The hospital authorities then informed the police.
The police found a suicide note from her room near the television. In the suicide note, she said that she was ending her life and no one was responsible for it. She also mentioned about her relationship with a man called Rohit whom she intended to marry. She mentioned that she was in a relationship with him but he has refused to marry her. However, she clearly stated that no one was responsible for her death and she is taking this decision in her full senses and no one is to be blamed.
The family members told the police that they were searching for a groom for her. Sources revealed that Anjana was a ‘maanglik’ and finding a suitable groom for her was getting difficult. On the fateful night, Anjana had dinner with the family members when she received a call on her cellphone and she went upstairs to receive it. When she did not come down to finish her dinner, her mother went upstairs to check her. She was distraught to see her daughter hanging from ceiling fan.
Anjana had done her MBA from Amity University in 2008. She worked as a manager with Indiabulls in Gurgaon. She has an elder brother and a sister, who are married.
The Investigating Officer (IO) has confiscated her mobile phone and the suicide note purportedly written by her, has been sent for forensic examination. The police officers are also scanning her account on social networking sites. The body was sent for post-mortem examination at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The body was later handed over to the family members for the final rites on Wednesday morning.
“The body of Anjana Saini was brought to AIIMS on Tuesday night. Prima facie it was a case of death by hanging which was confirmed in the autopsy. We performed the autopsy at 9.30 am after which the body was handed over to the family at 11 am. The report was sent to the investigating officer right after it was prepared. However, it was a case of suicide and there were no signs of any assaults on her body,” said Dr Amit Gupta, spokesperson of AIIMS.
