Depressed over unrequited love, a call centre employee ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in South Delhi’s Munirka area in the wee hours on Tuesday morning.

A suicide note was recovered from the spot which indicates that she was in a one-sided love relationship as she had mentioned in the letter that she was in love with a man who did not reciprocate. The deceased has been identified as Shivani (24), a native of Haridwar.

“The incident took place at around 4:30 am on Tuesday. The girl was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her rented accommodation in Munirka. The girl’s parents, who live in Haridwar, were informed. The post-mortem of the body is being conducted,” said a police official.

Her friend claimed that Shivani was upset since a few days. She had rented the accommodation at Munirka four months ago. In the suicide note recovered from her residence, Shivani apologised to her parents as well. She was currently working at the ‘Convergys’ call centre in Gurgaon. Earlier, the girl was working as a ground staff in one of the airlines.
